Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was released today in honour of farmers across the nation.
Speaking at a special event held in Benauli, Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), Prime Minister Modi directly transferred ₹20,500 crore to the bank accounts of over 9.7 crore farmers across India through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
To mark the occasion, a state-level programme was organised at the Agriculture Research Centre in Arundhatinagar, Tripura, where Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was present as the chief guest.
As part of this installment, ₹45.43 crore was deposited into the bank accounts of 2,84,000 farmers from Tripura.
Following the main event, Chief Minister Dr. Saha distributed Soil Health Cards to selected farmers and also visited the agricultural exhibition arranged at the venue.
In his address, the Chief Minister said, “Under the leadership of our Prime Minister, a new revolution has begun in agriculture. Farmers in Tripura are also benefiting from this transformative initiative. The PM-KISAN scheme has not only provided financial assistance but has also boosted the confidence of our farmers.”
He also shared detailed data on the number of beneficiaries from the eight districts of Tripura who received the 20th installment under the scheme. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to include more eligible farmers under PM-KISAN in the near future.
